Family Staycation at Four Seasons Wailea Maui, Hawaii

Updated: Nov 5, 2023

The Four Seasons hotel chain is renowned for its luxurious amenities, but it's so much more than that. Picture yourself lounging by the pool, tropical cocktail in hand, surrounded by swaying palm trees and friendly staff. It's like stepping into your own personal island paradise.

Day 1: Our journey from Lanai to Maui was a breeze - just a short 45-minute ferry ride. We hopped on the first boat and arrived at 9:00 am, ready for adventure. The added bonus was that Budget/Avis car rentals pick up passengers from Lahaina, making it convenient for us to explore the island. Driving from Lahaina to Wailea took us about 35 minutes, and the road was surprisingly clear. We couldn't help but soak in the stunning sights of the majestic mountains and beautiful beaches. Seriously, living in paradise comes at a price, but we couldn't complain one bit.

As we arrived at the Four Seasons in Wailea, we were greeted by friendly bellmen who adorned us with leis. They offered to valet our car, and a lovely concierge lady escorted us to the reception desk. Oshibori towels and welcome drinks were graciously presented to us, making us feel like true VIPs. It was like a moment out of a movie - I couldn't help but feel a little bit like Donald Trump (just kidding!). The surprises continued as we entered our room. Look at this incredible gift they prepared for us - a stingray placed beautifully on the bed to celebrate the birthday man, and a tub filled with sponge toys personalized with our son's name. It was simply amazing - we were thoroughly impressed!

We quickly changed into our swimwear and headed to the kids' pool, where we were treated like royalty. The staff set up two comfortable chairs for us and served us welcome drinks once again. I sipped on my refreshing piña colada while my husband and kids splashed around in the water, having the time of their lives. Time flew by as we were having so much fun. Before we knew it, it was time for dinner. We had made a reservation at Ferraro's, the Italian restaurant at Four Seasons. I savored a delectable serving of Aquerello Risotto with Hawaiian Ahi, while my husband enjoyed a juicy Tagliata steak. Seared Shutome was the perfect choice for my mother-in-law, and our little one devoured a plate of Bolognese. The dinner was divine, and although it was too dark to take pictures

Day 2:

The salty breeze wafted through our lanai, setting the perfect backdrop for our scrumptious buffet breakfast. As we entered Duo, the smiles of the staff greeted us warmly, and our eyes were immediately drawn to the vibrant array of colorful fruits. The breakfast spread was a feast for the senses, complete with a station to customize omelets, pancakes, waffles, and French toast. And let's not forget the hot plate corner, boasting eggs Benedict, crispy bacon, flavorful ramen, and juicy sausages. To top it all off, we indulged in unlimited mimosas - a delightful way to kickstart the day. After breakfast, we made a beeline for the pool, quickly securing our lounges. Our kids couldn't contain their excitement as they splashed around in the water, and we couldn't help but join in on the fun. We even had a poolside lunch, feeling like we were indulging in a lavish breakfast in bed, as the food was gracefully served on a charming food tray. Spoiled? Absolutely. Reluctant to leave? You betcha. We were thoroughly pampered and wished we could stay in this paradise forever. For all the moms out there, the Four Seasons Maui has a fantastic program called "Kids for All Seasons." Children aged 5 and up can enjoy supervised playtime and make new friends, while kids below 5 can be accompanied by their parents to join in the fun. The resort provides everything you need for your little ones, including diapers, wipes, and a convenient changing station. It truly made our stay hassle-free and enjoyable for the whole family. As the day drew to a close, a mesmerizing sunset dinner awaited us.

Day 3:

I decided to wake up early today, eager to take advantage of the complimentary sauna and steam bath at the hotel. It was such a relaxing experience, and the steam bath had a therapeutic scent that added to the overall ambiance. I spent a good thirty minutes enjoying some much-needed time for myself. Afterward, I quickly showered in the spa and returned to the room to get the kids ready for breakfast. A special perk for all the moms out there - kids eat for free if they're under the age of 5, which is one of the benefits of staying at Four Seasons. We headed down to enjoy our final breakfast in this paradise, and as always, the breakfast buffet was incredible. I ended up in a food coma, but it was totally worth it. After breakfast, it was time to prepare for check-out. But before leaving, we made sure to visit level 3, a beautiful garden filled with lovely flowers, chess games, and a stunning view of the island. It was the perfect way to bid farewell to this amazing place.

Till next time Four Seasons Maui
